It’s Now Finally Safe To Remove Authorship Markup According To Google
It has been more than 2 years since Google killed Authorship Markup officially. The last time I heard about it was when Gary Illyes from Google advised users not to remove authorship from their pages since Google might still use it. As we understood, they were being used for in-depth articles.
But now times have changed and Gary Illyes noted that it is now safe to remove authorship markup from any webpage. Google does not use them at all anymore and they have other methods to determine who wrote a specific article. It is nice to hear that Google are not depending on this old method anymore although I read some opinions of people who miss the authorship markup.
This all happened during the SMX Advanced , which you can also watch on Facebook.
