Why You Want To Host Your WordPress Website On WPX Hosting

First of all, if you are on a budget and can’t afford to be paying more than $5 to $10 per month for hosting, I would recommend going over to InMotion Hosting and signing up for their basic WordPress hosting plan. It goes as low as $4.89 per month (with our exclusive 38% discount) and has everything you need in order to setup and maintain a brand new WordPress website.

Just keep in mind that once your traffic grows, you will be forced to move to a better hosting solution and this is where WPX Hosting comes into play. In the beginning, Inet Solutions was hosted on HostGator, but as soon as I saw the potential of its blog, I moved it to WPX Hosting. Now, without a further ado, here are a few rock solid reasons as to why you want to host your WordPress website on WPX Hosting starting with a simple yet informative comparison table.

#1: Comparing WPX Hosting Plans With Other Top Notch WordPress Hosting Companies’ Plans

Before you look to the table below, keep in mind that it was put together using data from October 1st, 2016. Okay, gaze upon this beauty now:

WPX Hosting Plans Compared To Other WordPress Hosting Companies Plans

As you can see, it’s pretty clear which WordPress hosting is the best choice out of those four. As our good old friend the Legion Commander from DotA 2 says – “not even a contest”.

#2: Free Migration

As I already mentioned, this website wasn’t hosted on WPX Hosting in the beginning. So, when I wanted to move it to a more reliable WordPress hosting, I did my research and decided to go with WPX Hosting. Right off the bat, the impression was great as these guys offer a completely transparent and hands-free migration.

You don’t have to do anything. Just give them credentials to your current host and in a few hours your website will be moved to WPX Hosting. This is a huge feature that most web hosting companies charge a lot for and still can’t do as good a job as the WPX Hosting guys. When it’s done, just change the nameservers of your domain to those of WPX Hosting and you are good to go.

#3: Reliability

I’ve tried a lot of web hosting companies in my time and I gotta say, WPX Hosting is in the top 1 when it comes to reliability. But don’t just take my word for it. Let’s take a look at the facts. The servers of WPX Hosting are located at the world’s largest data center – 350 E. Cermak (more info here) which spans at around 1.1 million square feet.

And speaking from personal experience, over the last year and about two months in which my website has been hosted with WPX Hosting, I haven’t seen a single second of downtime – maybe I missed it or maybe there just wasn’t one.

To my recollection, there was only one maintenance and they still kept the websites up during that. Problems such as site speed issues, security issues, unpredictable down times and extremely slow support hotlines that exist with other web hosting companies (usually the very big ones due to their many clients) are nowhere to be found with WPX Hosting.

#4: Support

The support of a hosting company will either make it successful or it will break it. Imagine your site has about 10k unique visitors per day and it suddenly went down for whatever reason. It wouldn’t be good for your rage levels if you get a response from the support team after a full day of waiting, would it? Thought so.

And we all know how that goes right? You send 10 more support tickets trying to speed things up but it never works. It’s like with the elevator – no matter how many times you push the button, it ain’t coming any faster. So, it is of absolute importance that a hosting company has lighting fast support.

And that’s exactly the case with WPX Hosting. They have a situation similar to that of BuyProxies (who also respond within minutes) but again, don’t take my word for it. Let’s look at some real life data because I know you love that.

For about one year since I moved to WPX Hosting, I’ve sent a total of 36 tickets to their support team:

WPX Hosting Total Amount Of Support Tickets

Most of them have been about implementing new features to my website such as SSL and PHP 7.0 (more on those in a minute) and questions about optimal configuration for various plugins and what was the average response time? A day? A few hours? Fuck that. It has been 6.72 minutes. No, I’m not kidding. These guys respond lighting fast at anytime during the 24 hours of the day.

And trust me, this coming from a guy who’s never had any serious problems with any web hosting company, you still need that extremely fast support reaction. Time is money remember?

#5: Speed

In a world where everything is speeding up on a daily basis, you gotta be fast. And that includes your website. Optimizing your WordPress website for speed is an essential process, however, if you’ve chosen the wrong hosting, it won’t work as effectively as it should. And guess which web hosting is the right choice? You Nostradamus you.

But why? First off, if you saw in the comparison table above, WPX Hosting is the only one that hosts on servers with SSD which is a humongous difference – more on that subject here. SSD is also one of the primary reasons why I recommend InMotion Hosting as an alternative WordPress hosting for people on a budget.

Secondly, WPX Hosting works with PHP 7.0 which, for those unaware, is a huge improvement to the WordPress platform, especially in terms of performance – exhibit A. There’s just one thing you need to keep in mind – not all WordPress plugins and themes work with PHP 7.0 yet so make sure to look into that before upgrading your website to PHP 7.0. If it doesn’t work with some of your plugins or themes, then just downgrade it back to a lower version and everything will be as normal.

WPX Hosting have implemented their own fix to the W3 Total Cache plugin that makes it work with PHP 7.0 so if you’re using that plugin for speed (as you should), don’t worry about it as it works with WPX Hosting and I will show you how in the next section.

And as far as speed goes, that’s pretty much it. Those two features combined with the stable servers and high resources assigned to each website is all your website needs to load phenomenally fast. Oh and I forgot to mention the opcode caching which basically caches the result of the compilation of the PHP code into bytecode which additionally helps with site speed.

#6: Security

When it comes to security features, I don’t know of any other web hosting company that provides as much as WPX Hosting does – and it’s all at no additional cost at all. First off, by default, all sites are protected by an application firewall, but that’s very basic security that comes with most WordPress hosts. Now let’s move on to the good stuff.

With any WPX Hosting plan there are also daily backups, daily malware scans, free DDoS protection, and unlimited SSL – again, all for free. The daily backups and the daily malware scans are all seamless and run in the background. But let’s talk a bit about the DDoS protection and the unlimited SSL.

The DDoS protection of WPX Hosting comes from Incapsula and would normally cost you $299 per website for all the benefits that it comes with. This protection is geared to withstand very large DDoS attacks and would cost you absolutely nothing additionally to enable on your website if it is hosted with WPX Hosting.

Then there’s the unlimited SSL. By now, we all know that Google gives a little bit of extra ranking edge to sites that use HTTPS instead of the more insecure HTTP so right there is reason number one to secure your website with an SSL connection.

Now, getting an SSL certificate is not the most expensive thing to do as you can find good ones for around $10 per year. It’s the implementation process that gets most people confused. So, WPX Hosting solved that problem by providing free SSL certificates from Lets Encrypt. And the best part is that you can implement that within a few minutes by simply clicking a few buttons and installing a WordPress plugin on your website. It just doesn’t get any easier than that folks.

And that’s it pretty much for me trying to prove my point. I mean, if all this hasn’t convinced you that WPX Hosting is the best WordPress hosting out there (right now), I don’t know what will. Case rested. Moving on to optimal configuration for the environment of WPX Hosting.

Optimal WPX Hosting Configuration

After you install (which is done with one click) or migrate your WordPress website to WPX Hosting, you are going to want to optimize it to work with that server environment. This means going through this step by step WordPress speed optimization tutorial and implementing the necessary plugins and services to your website. You could skip implementing CloudFlare and BWP Minify as they are situational and your website can work really perfectly just with W3 Total Cache (get WPX Hosting optimal settings from here) and MaxCDN (25% discount from this link).

If you don’t have the budget for MaxCDN which is an additional $5 to $10 per month, you can skip that as well. However, implementing a CDN is one of the more important steps of the WordPress speed optimization process. So if you can afford it, good, but if you can’t, well, when you website starts making money and some of your visitors start complaining about page load times, you will for sure.

Now, once you have your WordPress website optimized for speed as per the aforementioned tutorial, your next step would be to try and implement PHP 7.0. The way I did it was simply to send a support ticket to WPX Hosting and they did it for me in about 10 minutes. Cool right?

If all is good with PHP 7.0  just watch and be amazed at the massive improvement to your WordPress website’s performance, especially on the admin page. It’s like it doesn’t even refresh it’s so fast.

The last thing that you need to do is implement HTTPS on your website. The way you do that is by following the step by step guide on this page and sending a support ticket to WPX Hosting if there are any problems or doubts on your part. That’s it. When you are done with that, your website will become more secure and thus gain that extra credibility and Google rankings power.

And that’s basically all that you need to do. Now, I don’t know if new websites get these things installed by default so you don’t have to do absolutely anything but whatever the case is, a simple support ticket will clear things up. You saw how fast the WPX Hosting guys respond so there’s no trouble in asking. I had to implement the SSL certificate and the DDoS protection because these features came after I was already hosted with WPX Hosting.

Speaking of the DDoS protection. For new websites I think that it is active by default, but for websites that have been hosted with WPX Hosting before the DDoS feature got implemented, you should have received an email with instructions what to do. Again, if you are not sure, just send a support ticket and everything will become clear.

Conclusion

In the end, if you have a WordPress website, I can’t think of a better place to host it on than WPX Hosting. But we still haven’t talked about prices and bandwidth. How much will all this WPX Hosting extravaganza cost you and will the bandwidth be enough? Well, considering all the features that you get and the priceless lighting fast support, I’d say that the standard $24.99 per month is, to say the least, extremely cost-effective.

And the bandwidth? Currently, my website is getting around 9 – 10k unique visitors per month and the bandwidth generated by all that is around 15 – 20GB per month. You do the math for your website. Bottom line? Just go with WPX Hosting if you have a WordPress website and never look back. Perfect blue.
